| Valladolid
The
city of Valladolid, modern yet historical, is surrounded by plains and
open plateaux. The countryside consists of vineyards and arable farming,
pigeon lofts and castles as well as monumental churches.
The
area features hills dominated by church towers and impressive castles,
such as the castles of Montealegre and Mota del Marqués. The area
is also famous for its wines: vineyards work their way in between such
impressive monuments as the castles of Curiel and Peñafiel. The
Peñafiel castle houses the Museo Provincial del Vino (The Wine
Museum of the Province)
