| Sucre (Bol.)
Sucre,
constitutional capital of Bolivia, seat of the Supreme Court and capital
of the Chuquisaca department in the central southern part of the country,
is often referred to as the ‘City of Four Names’ for having
been previously named Charcas, La Plata and Chuquisaca. The predominance
of white-washed buildings have also prompted that Sucre be referred to
as ‘The White City’ (La Ciudad Blanca). Nestling at the foot
of twin hills, Sucre attracts many visitors every year to see its colonial
architecture and visit the locality.
