Santiago (Cuba)

Santiago CubaSantiago de Cuba, named after the patron saint of Spain, stands between a natural harbour and the Sierra Maestra mountain range. Santiago - a friendly, tropical city of about 500,000 inhabitants – and the surrounding area sparked the Cuban revolution. It was from here that Fidel Castro drew much of his popular support.

This is the one place in the world that you should drink a rum and coke! But Santiago is also famous for being the undisputed home of Cuba’s traditional music with its Afro-Haitian rhythm
