Guanajuato (Mex.)

After central Mexico and the Gulf of Mexico, Guanajuato in the central Mexican highlands was one of the first areas to attract the Spanish conquistadores. The area was rich in silver deposits. The colonial heritage is still clearly evidenced by the towns many churches and its European character.
